Rigaku generators

Engineering and manufacturing advanced X-ray generators is a core competency at Rigaku. To meet the various current and future needs of structural biology, Rigaku offers a range of generators, from a compact second generation microfocus sealed tube system to the brightest microfocus rotating anode generator available today. Rigaku generators have a long-established reputation for outstanding reliability and performance. The latest Rigaku sources produce unparalleled X-ray beam brightness, with low divergence, for superior data with small or poorly diffracting crystals.

Brilliant X-ray sources

Rigaku X-ray generators are mated to X-ray optics to afford an optimized X-ray source. As illustrated in the comparison table, the products offered for protein crystallography span from the modest X-ray brightness afforded by a conventional sealed X-ray tube to the synchrotron-class flux delivered by the ultra brilliant FR-E+ SuperBright™ microfocus rotating anode X-ray generator.

Unparalleled productivity

Rigaku is the leading provider of home laboratory X-ray sources for macro-molecular crystallography.

A statistical analysis of X-ray crystal structures submitted to the Protein Data Bank (PDB) showed that 92% of those solved with home lab sources were done using Rigaku equipment in 2007 (the latest year of complete data).

The data conclusively demonstrate that Rigaku structural biology customers are collectively the most productive, far exceeding the nearest competitor in the home lab market.
