Regional sales representative

Rigaku is at the forefront of analytical and industrial X-ray instrumentation technology. With hundreds of major innovations to its credit, Rigaku and its subsidiary companies are world leaders in the fields of X-ray diffraction (XRD) and X-ray fluorescence (XRF) spectrometry.

The successful applicant will be responsible for capital equipment sales of Rigaku XRD, XRF, protein and small molecule X-ray Crystallography, and protein crystallization automation systems in the Mid-Atlantic territory of the United States, located in or around the New Jersey area.

The ideal candidate should have proven skills and a track record of success in technical sales. Strong knowledge relating to the field of X-ray diffraction is desired.

Job requirements

Must be knowledgeable in the technical sales process with sufficient sales tactics to effectively communicate and sell the merits of Rigaku instruments versus competitors to our existing and prospective customers. Must have excellent oral and written communication skills, work independently, and be self-motivated. Computer literacy is required with use of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint programs as well as Lotus Notes CRM database. Travel within territory and travel outside of territory for trade shows and product demonstrations up to 50-70% of time.

Education and experience

A Bachelors degree in the physical sciences or engineering is preferred. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years sales experience in the analytical equipment industry.


Engineering Manager

Rigaku is the world wide leader in analytical X-ray based instruments. We are seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to join our team based in The Woodlands, Texas.

Qualifications needed for success in position:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering from an accredited university.
  • Proven leadership, management, supervisory, technical, and organizational skills and have the ability to manage multiple parallel projects
  • Excellent computer skills including MS Word, Excel, ACAD, UGS, SolidWorks, SolidEdge and other project management programs
  • Excellent verbal / written communication, and presentation skills. Proven resolution skills and excellent customer service skills.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision as well as the ability to work and succeed in a team environment
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably a metal cutting environment; knowledge of machining methodologies, tolerances, and practices.
  • Experience with the creation and implementation of production documentation packages.
  • Training and documentation implementation skills in accordance with ISO 9001.
  • Excellent knowledge of manufacturing best practices and MRP software packages
  • PMP Certification a plus

The qualified candidate will be responsible for:

  • Plans, directs, supervises, and evaluates the work activities of Engineers and Designers. Ensures that activity is in accordance with all requirements and is completed on time. Review & approve project drawings and documents.
  • Leading the project team in all necessary technical disciplines throughout the project's design, build and as required installation phases.
  • Assuring compliance with all Company policies and procedures in the design, development, application, and documentation of products.
  • Providing technical support to Sales/Marketing Department and customers as required. Providing technical support to Manufacturing and Quality Departments and vendors as required
  • Review, understand and interpret Customer specifications and contract requirements and working with the Product Manager and Service to assure customers technical needs are met.
  • Working closely with Applications Scientist to assure technical leadership with regard to product design and process application.
  • Preparing weekly reports for management including status of projects and objectives, performance to budget, and other issues and concerns.

Java scientific programmer

Rigaku is the world wide leader in analytical X-ray based instruments. We are seeking an experienced Java Scientific Programmer to join our StructureStudio™ team. StructureStudio is a state of the art integrated Java framework for single crystal data collection, data processing and structure solution. A bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related filed, at least three years experience developing Java user interfaces, preferably with Eclipse, and at least two years experience developing programs in C++ are absolute requirements.

This position is in our software development group in Orem UT. You will also collaborate with scientists and other software developers in our main US office in The Woodlands (near Houston) TX, our ActiveSight office in San Diego CA, and the main factory in Tokyo Japan. The job will involve moderate travel.
